HOPE changes lives: What Are We Trusting?

Once we begin to see that hope is present, the next question is what kind of hope we are holding onto. In everyday life, hope often looks like a wish that things will get better or a sense that things will probably work out. But the hope described in Scripture runs deeper than that. It is rooted in the character and promises of God, especially in moments when there is no clear evidence that things are improving. Paul speaks of waiting with patience, trusting in what we cannot yet see. This week helps us name the difference between the hopes we tend to rely on and the hope God offers. The call is to take an honest look at what we are trusting right now and to begin placing that trust more fully in the God who is still at work, even in the unfinished and uncertain parts of our lives.
